Daniel Kfouri Photographer

BIO

Daniel Kfouri was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, in 1975. For almost six years of his youth, Daniel tested his capacity to self-express in several areas on visual communications, from an intern at an advertisement agency in 1995 to a graphic designer responsible of magazines and books for a small local publishing house in the summer of 2001. On a month-vacation through Europe carrying a borrowed camera from his ex girlfriend, Daniel finally discovered his passion for photography, already influenced by the work of Brazilian photographers Pedro Martinelli, Sebastião Salgado and Cristiano Mascaro. Back home to Sao Paulo, by presenting his holidays images, Daniel was selected for a three-month workshop by FujiFilm House of Photography, when he decided to become a professional photographer in the middle of 2002. Daniel started working for a wide range of subjects for magazines for a year, before he joined a local newspaper Folha de S. Paulo, as a press photographer until the end of 2006, the year Daniel focused his career into small and middle-term projects while doing sporadic assignments for the next three years as freelance photographer for The Associated Press, Agence France-Presse and Getty Images. Since then, Daniel's work quite often features The New York Times, GQ, ESPN magazine among other Brazilian magazines, in parallel of corporate works for his currently client Nike. Daniel is available for photography assignments.
